Start to the biggest change of my life....

IN the Begining. There was a chain of events. Tonight my internet suddenly stops working, when I have a 5GB data plan that literally was just purchased 7 days ago. I call up iDEA. They tell me that I only have 2rupee on my acct. They tell me that whoever recharged me, only put 198 rupee and a 1 GB plan!!! When I paid 600 rupee! Not even bringing up that horrible internet cafe who tried to sell me the bad router. Now I have an amazingly fast NEW router. I will stick to the one man shops, not the 2nd hand places that sell things. I texted a friend who was next to a recharge shop and he added 650rupee ($10.50) for UNLIMTED internet for the month! They also told him there is no such thing as the plans that they had told me about. Sneaky. And the lame thing about wifi internet usb drive is, the sim card, has a phone number associated to it, but there is no way for you to receive a confirmation email or text message that the correct amount was loaded onto your account unless you have a dual sim slot inside your cell phone - which I do not.

Backing up...Today started out great, my friend from Paris surprised me with a delicious homemade croissant, since he was flying back today. I had so many plans to do around the house, including 2 loads of laundry. I have been dreaming of washing whites for the last 3 days..hahah I know Im crazy, but I absolutely Love cleaning! Esp since I took the 2 puppies to the vet on Sunday, so I got pretty dirtied up playing with them.

The wash machine decided to stop working 10 minutes into cycle. This is the 2nd time it has done this. it is also the first time its been turned on from the last time it did this. Before, it took 24 hrs of leaving it unplugged and all the towels had already rotted, so had to rewash again. Thank goodness the water here gets boiling hot!

A hour after it stops, the power decided to go out for 3 hours, while my laptop and phones were only half charged, so I decided to read my Kindle. But, It was totally dead!!! WEIRD. because it is Always charged up. I got out the yoga mat, a tiny ant appears out of nowhere as Im reading a Doreen Virtue book and mediating, so had to do a sweep thru for ants. lol. Never have ants. What the heck...THEN the Ipod dies. LOL

Power comes on. Finally the housekeeper shows up and flicks the switch up and down super fast 8 times. I plug in the washer. Bingo. The red light comes on and it starts a full cycle! Really?! lol

Im in a good mood now and decide to start dinner at 4:30pm, water is boiling, about to make lentil soup. I'm grating up carrots to cook up for desert with the ghee butter melting. At the same time, I kid you not... the washer is done (but its already 5pm and too cool outside to dry anything) and the water is almost to a boil, I hear silence from both. No way. Did the propane just seriously run out of gas?!??? YES IT DID. Now I have no dinner and the carrots are already soggy from being grated and will prob be rotten by am. (They rotted...took them 3 days to bring me a new gas tank).

I have no food to eat, other than cookies. No cash, except for 100 rupee, because I had already gone to the grocery store, and everything requires Making a MEAL. And I wasn't planning on going to the ATM until Wednesday.

My landlord calls me after I text him. He feels terrible since he lives out of town! And sends up the housekeeper 500 rupee to borrow for dinner and in the am he is taking me for a ride into town for the ATM. And the propane will be delivered in AM. He tells me "only the black market is available at night".

The gas even lasts 5-6mos - it a Huge tank and costs $20 to fill.

This was just a slight highlight of a frustrating "only in India" day...also proving that chain of events to ocur all at once.

If this is all that is bad that happens in India, then I guess I'll be just fine.

So, the part of this that gets magical....I decide to eat at the Pink Chili Restaurant down the road. As I'm about to step inside, I hear my Guide's voice say, "Sit next to those blonde women" to which I responded in my head, "wait a second...why on earth ARE there even blondes in the restaurant? I haven't seen white people in months!" I sit down at my usual table across from them, all of a sudden, the one lady comes up to me and asks, "Hey, I know this might sound weird, but would you like to join us for dinner?" To which I eagerly responded, "Yes!!! I would love to!" lol

Long story short...If it wasn't for these chain of events to kick my butt out of my house, I would have never met one of my best girlfriends to go tanning at the beach with for 4 days straight...learn how to hop onto a free shuttle ;) and have Easter brunch at the Hilton! YUM! Lori became a sister to me, we literally have everything in common....down to the way we speak haha...And because she lives/works in Abu Dhabi, I finally have one of many reasons to visit! Love you girl!
